A notable advancement in KFSH’s research endeavors is its progress in cell therapy, particularly through a Phase I clinical trial involving locally manufactured genetically engineered CAR-T cells. This trial, aimed at treating relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia, combines local scientific expertise with advanced biomanufacturing and specialized clinical care, demonstrating the hospital’s capability to integrate complex research pathways within its framework.
KFSH’s robust clinical-trial infrastructure also facilitates participation in complex international studies, supporting collaborations with multinational research partners. This infrastructure ensures adherence to high standards of patient safety, ethics, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
