Saudi Arabia and South Korea have pledged to deepen their collaboration in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technology investment, following a series of strategic meetings in Seoul. The discussions mark a significant step in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to position itself as a global leader in AI and digital innovation.

Leading the Saudi delegation, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha, alongside Communications, Space and Technology Commission Governor Haytham Al-Ohali, engaged with senior officials from the South Korean government. Their talks concentrated on enhancing cooperation in AI, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure, with a shared vision to boost innovation and fortify the digital economy.

The discussions also delved into improving digital government services. Both nations explored how Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior could work together on unified government platforms, digital identity systems, and leveraging AI to enhance public services.

Furthering the investment dialogue, Al-Swaha met with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures. Their conversation centered on identifying investment opportunities, supporting Saudi startups, and broadening their reach in global markets, while simultaneously attracting technology investment to the Kingdom.

This visit is a part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategic initiative to forge robust global technology partnerships, attract substantial investments, and accelerate the growth of an AI-driven digital economy. Through these efforts, Saudi Arabia aims to significantly elevate its position on the international technology stage.
