Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Türkiye have jointly condemned recent Houthi attacks on Saudi airports, including a strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that resulted in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. In a statement, the countries described the attacks as violations of international law and Saudi sovereignty, emphasizing the threat to civilian safety and regional stability. They called for an immediate and unconditional cessation of the attacks and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

The statement reaffirmed support for Saudi Arabia’s defensive measures in line with the United Nations Charter and international law, holding the Houthi group accountable for the attacks and their implications for peace in the region. The condemnation comes amid reports of another incident at King Khalid International Airport, where an unidentified projectile damaged a passenger terminal, causing a fire and injuries.

Kuwait separately denounced the attacks on both King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, urging international accountability and response. Kuwaiti authorities highlighted the interconnected security interests of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.

Additionally, Yemen’s Information Minister, Moammar Al-Eryani, called for international action, including from the United Nations Security Council, to hold those responsible accountable. He stressed the risk these attacks pose to aviation safety.

The escalation follows a previous attack that reportedly killed 13 people and injured over 300, raising significant concerns about the safety of civilians and increasing regional tensions. Saudi aviation authorities continue to assess the damage and conduct safety inspections in the aftermath of these incidents.
