Saudi Arabia is bracing for a hotter summer than usual in 2026, according to climate forecasts from the National Center for Meteorology. The predictions indicate elevated temperatures across all regions of the Kingdom, while rainfall may remain near or below average levels in several areas.

For the month of June, rainfall is expected to align closely with seasonal norms throughout the country. However, in July, regions such as Jazan, Baha, Asir, Makkah, Najran, and the Eastern Province might face below-average precipitation, although other areas should experience more typical rainfall patterns.

Temperature increases are anticipated starting in June, with some areas, including Jazan, Baha, parts of Makkah and Asir, as well as Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Tabuk, potentially seeing rises of up to 1.5°C above normal. The temperature rise is expected to continue into July and August, with Jazan, Baha, and parts of Asir and Makkah possibly experiencing increases of up to 1.6°C above average, positioning them as some of the hottest regions in the Kingdom this summer.

Meteorological officials are advising the public and relevant sectors to keep abreast of official weather updates and forecasts. This vigilance is crucial to ensure preparedness and effective planning in response to the anticipated extreme heat conditions.
