Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, has called for heightened international efforts to ensure accountability for Israeli settlers involved in acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. During an interfaith dialogue in Rome, Prince Faisal emphasized the urgent need to cease these attacks, highlighting that ongoing settlement expansion and violence jeopardize the viability of a two-state solution.

He acknowledged the actions taken by several countries, such as imposing sanctions on individuals associated with severe human rights violations, as well as implementing travel restrictions and bans on imports from Israeli settlements. Prince Faisal stressed that increased accountability is essential to safeguard Palestinian rights and to foster enduring peace.

Additionally, the Saudi foreign minister reiterated the Kingdom’s firm opposition to any alterations to the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites. He underscored the significance of diplomacy and international collaboration in advancing a comprehensive peace process in the region.

The call for stronger international action reflects growing concerns over the escalation of tensions in the occupied territories. Prince Faisal’s remarks serve as a reminder of the delicate balance required to maintain peace and the crucial role of international stakeholders in supporting a viable resolution.
